Since its inception all the way back in 1995, The Vans Warped Tour has been one of the largest touring festivals championing the underground punk and hardcore aesthetic. Originally starting as a skate punk and ska based music festival, artist traction spread like wildfire, with the tour soon championing many up and coming artists within the scene.
Often being hailed as a platform for the rise of many bands during its run, Warped Tour saw the breakout of such artists as Pennywise, The Offspring, Thrice in addition to branching out into other genres, even hosting the likes of No Doubt, Katy Perry and The Black Eyed Peas.
The skate and punk culture were predominantly encouraged due to the place of many skate and BMX ramps throughout festival grounds. The festival has also hit Aussie shores on more than one occasion, first in 2001 and then back by popular demand for one last time in 2013.
Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman stated that 2018 will be the last ever run, with this year's final lineup boasting an impressive roster of bands and even champions some of our favourite Aussie artists with the likes Tonight Alive, Deez Nuts, In Hearts Wake and The Amity Affliction.
